Now run by their son Jamie Richards and long-standing manager Shirley Pascoe.

The Firs Funeral Home
The Firs Funeral Home is situated on the Penzance Road at St Johns, Helston on The Lizard Peninsula. Our private chapel of rest and offices are set amongst trees in very tranquil surroundings. The Firs is easily accessible with private parking, wheelchair access and disabled facilities.
24hr on-call service
Pendle Funeral Services offer a 24-hour on call service, along with the office being open throughout the day (Monday-Friday 8am-4.30pm) to provide advice and support. Funeral Arrangements can be made in the comfort of your own home, or in our office at The Firs. Our staff include male and female funeral directors and experienced bearers. Professional, sensitive advice and assistance is available at all times.
A tailored approach to suit every need
All faiths and beliefs are encompassed. Funerals are individually arranged to suit the personal requirements of each family and services can be conducted, not only in churches and crematoria, but also in the privacy of your own home, our chapel of rest at The Firs, woodland burial grounds or on suitable private land.
We are very aware of the ecological needs of our clients and can provide all available bio-degradable and sustainable coffins, ie bamboo, wicker, seagrass and willow and woollen coffins in addition to the range of solid wood or veneered, with the more recent addition of custom designed picture coffins. Our fleet of vehicles include air-conditioned limousines for extra comfort. We can also provide a horse drawn hearse, as shown in our Photo Gallery

Pendle Funeral Services has a long-standing commitment to supporting the local community through charitable fundraising, sponsorship, and community initiatives. Founded by Tony, the Fast Track Big Band has entertained audiences at numerous fundraising events, helping to raise thousands of pounds for local charities and worthwhile causes over the years.
Continuing this tradition of giving back, Tony's son, Jamie, has completed the London Marathon four times, raising more than £25,000 for local charities, including The Cove, the Maternity Unit at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, Marie Curie, and Sands.
In addition to charitable fundraising, Pendle Funeral Services is proud to support local grassroots sport through its ongoing sponsorship of Helston Football Club, Helston Rugby Club, and Helston Bowls Club, helping these valued community organisations continue to thrive.
Together, these initiatives demonstrate Pendle Funeral Services' enduring commitment to supporting families, local organisations, and the wider community, reflecting the company's values of compassion, care, and service both inside and outside the workplace.

The service we received from the funeral directors, was second to non. They showed great compassion and care for my sister Carol (Candy) Knight, and all the family. My sister and brother-in-law accompanied me to the chapel of rest to see Carol and she looked beautiful due to the care taken by Pendles. Tony,his Wife and Shirley showed such dignity, kindness and support to me, when my Mum pasted away December 1st 2017.
