Green Funerals

At Pendles, we aim to conduct funerals in a manner that respects the environment and we endeavour to keep improving our practices and to lead the way for “green” funerals.  Recently, we have switched our fleet of vehicles to Ford ‘Eco-boost’ which ensures that we have reduced our emissions significantly. 

We provide an extensive choice of “eco” coffins, including seagrass, willow, banana leaf, wool and cardboard.  In addition, we work closely with local businesses and suppliers to ensure that our carbon-footprint is minimised: our widely used veneer oak range is supplied by a local family business based only 4 miles away, ensuring a low carbon footprint and ethical sourcing. 

In conjunction with various local woodland burial sites, we can offer a truly natural funeral which is environmentally friendly.  We also have experience in arranging funerals that encompass diverse religious and spiritual beliefs, and endeavour to facilitate the wishes of the deceased and their families.  This can also be applied to parish cemeteries and local crematoria.
